Who We Are

Rotaract Bloomsburg is a community-service organization based out Bloomsburg, PA. We operate out of, and in cooperation with, the Bloomsburg Campus of Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania. We offer younger people (18 to 30 years old) many opportunities to serve both their local, and international communities.

What are our Objectives?

The objectives of Rotaract are to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster the following:

  1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
  2. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarian of their occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
  3. The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to their personal, business, and community life.
  4. The advancement of international understanding, good will, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Why Join Rotaract?

Rotaract emphasizes the importance of what the individual can do for their community. But there is no shame in asking, “What good does that do for each individual?” Rotaract is a small extension of it’s parent organization, Rotary International. This is a robust network of potential friends, neighbors, colleagues, and even employers. To involve oneself in Rotaract is to embrace the opportunity for personal and professional advancement through community outreach, and these internal networks of extremely professionally developed individuals.

We cannot begin to count the number of our members who have been able to significantly and rapidly develop their careers because of the connections they’ve made within our organization. But if your career isn’t the focus, then you’ll still have the opportunity to grow yourself personally through your experiences with Rotaract. Our events can develop powerful relationships among members of the communities we serve, and among members of Rotaract and Rotary International itself. Alongside these individuals, you will learn about a variety of lifestyles, cultures, histories, and you may even pick up some practical and handy skills for the future!

Among these opportunities for personal and professional growth are the opportunities for some social events! Members of Rotaract are frequently organizing or invited to a number of events where we can simply relax and chat. Dinners, parties, celebrations, and many other events are offered to our members. So, if you are looking for some free food, good company, and an opportunity to meet some wonderful and well-connected people, look no further!
